His most recent play, Company Along the Mile, is under development at the West Yorkshire Playhouse. Tom is also currently engaged in co-writing (with Mark Catley) the opening two episodes of the forthcoming series of casualty for the BBC. Tom’s undoubted strength as a writer is in his ability to draw vivid, humorous yet believable characters and place them in difficult moral situations and his work explores how Mr. or Mrs. everyman react under extreme pressure.
“Why do people always laugh when someone gets hurt? My Grandma died when a piano fell on her- I didn’t laugh. I’d almost learned how to play Moonlight Sonata.”
