Kamau is an actress who, since 2005, has worked with Tears Group Kenya, a youth based organisation established to develop talent and empower creativity. Tears Group has trained Kamau in puppetry (she has now advanced to training puppetry teachers) and she is a qualified community theatre worker as well as being the Programme Officer for Tears Group. In 2006, Kamau volunteered in a USAID funded project as a community youth social worker and community theatre trainer. Kamau’s performance work with Tears Group includes Sophocles’ Oedipus Rex and a number of Shakespeare’s plays.
