Lift creates international, interactive cultural experiences and builds connections between local and international artists and communities. Lift has developed frameworks enabling artists from around the world to come together, exchange and collaborate with local communities and each other to create Lift Festivals, a celebration of international and local culture, and our responses to the urgent issues of our time. At the centre of the Lift Festivals, which happen across London every summer, is The Lift, a mobile venue that has been designed in collaboration with communities, artists and architects and invites audiences that might not otherwise access festival programmes.

Lift jumped at the opportunity to collaborate with other arts partners in the creation of the IFEA. The professional development and exchange opportunities for young artists within an international context are few and far between, and we are delighted to contribute to the creation of this festival, which promises to be the start of an important series of international collaborations and is fittingly located in the most culturally diverse borough of London.
