Kylie co-founded the Cardiff based theatre company gaijin-san, in 2006. Previously she had been developing and presenting performances at visual art and theatre venues across Cardiff and south Wales, including several at Chapter Arts Centre. She is a graduate of the University of Glamorgan and has since continued her studies in dance at Rubican (Cardiff). The work of gaijin-san is centered around devised physical and experimental performance. This has included outdoor performances and collaborations with artists from the performance association )+(=0 on the international collaborative work Dante’s Universe. gaijin-san’s production Ma Lau premiered at Chapter Arts in 2007 and the company recently toured Animangamon, a manga inspired physical performance duet commissioned by Welsh Independent Dance. Kylie has also worked as a performer and assistant director for the National Youth Theatre of Wales and Uhhuh Dance Company and has twice collaborated with the Tokyo based theatre group, Yubiwa Hotel.
