Daniel has been playing the fiddle since the age of seven. He is a former student of the National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music and is currently in his final year of a degree in Scottish Music from RSAMD. Daniel performs regularly with his own ceilidh band and as a guest artist for a number of other groups. He teaches at the Glasgow Fiddle Workshop and at the RSAMD’s Youthworks project. Daniel has been involved in many collaborative projects with contemporary musicians from Scotland, Ireland, England and Denmark. Some of these collaborations culminated in performances at Tonder Festival, Celtic Connections and the Sage Gateshead. Daniel has been introduced to many further collaborators through the Aberdeen International Youth Festival (AIYF), giving him the opportunity to work with storytellers, contemporary dancers, Latin percussion groups and North American drummers and dancers. Daniel has performed throughout the world at events and festivals including Celtic Colours in Canada.
